Court Summons Services Secretary Over Denial of Promotion to Health Department Doctor

Lahore: The constitutional bench of the Sindh High Court has summoned the Services Secretary in a personal capacity in a case concerning the non-promotion of a health department doctor.
During the hearing, the court directed the secretary to appear at the next session and provide an explanation for the عدم compliance with earlier court orders.
Counsel for the petitioner, Advocate Asadullah Baloch, argued that the court had already ordered in 2022 that Dr. Abid be promoted in accordance with the law, specifically from Grade 19 to Grade 20. However, the directive has yet to be implemented.
The lawyer further stated that the matter was presented twice before the Provincial Selection Board, but on both occasions, the recommendations for promotion were rejected.
The court has adjourned the hearing of the case until April 30.
