Two Pakistani Ships Turned Back After Reaching Strait of Hormuz

Islamabad: Two Pakistani vessels were abruptly turned back after reaching the Strait of Hormuz, according to official sources.

The ships, Shalamar and Khairpur, operated by Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, had departed two days earlier for Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

Sources said the vessels were prevented from proceeding further shortly after entering the حساس maritime zone due to “unavoidable reasons.” Following instructions, the ships’ captains—Captain Asif and Captain Shaheen—redirected their vessels toward the Gulf of Oman.

The ships were expected to load millions of liters of crude oil from Kuwait and the UAE. However, after the sudden change in route, they are now likely to head toward Fujairah or Yanbu for further operations.

The incident highlights growing uncertainty in key النفط shipping routes amid rising regional tensions.
