PTI Leaders Praise Supreme Court’s Ruling on Reserved Seats, Criticize State of Law in the Country

Islamabad: PTI leader Salman Akram Raja has hailed the Supreme Court’s decision to allocate reserved seats to the party, calling it one of the most remarkable rulings by the court.
Speaking to the media outside the High Court, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s General Secretary, Salman Akram Raja, described the allocation of reserved seats to PTI as one of the best two decisions ever made by the Supreme Court. He mentioned that while numerous decisions have been made against authoritarianism following the departures of Zia-ul-Haq, Yahya Khan, and Pervez Musharraf, only two rulings stood out during authoritarian regimes.
Raja pointed out that the first ruling against such a regime came on July 1, 1988, and the second was the July 12, 2024, decision, where eight majority judges of the Supreme Court stood against the prevailing system that sought to deny PTI seats and recognition in parliament. According to Raja, this decision upheld the constitution, the rule of law, and the democratic right to vote.
Earlier, PTI leader Asad Qaiser also addressed the media outside the Judicial Complex, where he expressed concerns over the state of law in the country. Qaiser criticized the system, stating that there is no rule of law or constitution in Pakistan, and the country’s governance resembles a “jungle.” He further claimed that the system was being manipulated by those in power, and that currently, the law holds no significance in the country.
