Punjab to Introduce Advanced Intravascular Surgery for Heart Diseases

Lahore: The government of Punjab has decided to introduce intravascular surgery, a modern technique for the treatment of heart diseases, in the province.
A delegation led by Dr. Naeem Tahirkheli, Chairman of Oklahoma Heart Hospital, met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, during which it was agreed that local doctors would receive training from American specialists to implement the procedure.
According to the briefing, intravascular surgery is a safe and advanced alternative to traditional open-heart surgery, offering patients a less invasive and more effective treatment option.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed that the technique be introduced at Jinnah Institute of Cardiology and Nawaz Sharif Medical City, along with the acquisition of state-of-the-art medical equipment to support its implementation.
The initiative aims to enhance cardiac care in Punjab and provide patients with access to cutting-edge medical treatment within the province.
