Balochistan Leader Condemns Action Against Senior Doctor as “Vindictive and Unjust”

PANJGUR: Rehmat Saleh Baloch, a central leader of the National Party and Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the Balochistan Assembly, has strongly condemned the action taken under the BEDA Act against senior physician Dr Noorullah Musa Khel, calling it an open act of retaliation.

In a statement, Baloch said that targeting a competent, honest, and experienced doctor based on an officer’s personal ego, stubbornness, and likes or dislikes is a clear misuse of authority and a serious blow to the credibility of public institutions. He alleged that Dr Noorullah Musa Khel is being punished for refusing to bow to illegal and inappropriate directives, avoiding corruption, and maintaining a principled stance.

He warned that penalizing an upright officer to such an extent would discourage honest professionals from accepting key responsibilities in the future. According to him, such retaliatory actions not only undermine professional independence but also create unrest, anxiety, and a sense of insecurity within the medical community.

Highlighting the doctor’s services, Baloch said that Dr Noorullah Musa Khel remained on the front lines during the COVID-19 crisis as Medical Superintendent of Fatima Jinnah Hospital, serving patients despite risks to his own life. He added that at a time when misinformation about vaccines was widespread, the doctor set an example by getting vaccinated himself.

Baloch further criticized the prevailing governance in the province, alleging that personal interests, political victimization, and incompetence are pushing Balochistan toward decline. He said that decisions based on favoritism and nepotism have weakened institutions and warned of serious consequences if the trend continues.

He termed the action against Dr Noorullah Musa Khel under the BEDA Act as not only illegal but also morally unacceptable, vowing that it would not be tolerated. He also urged the doctors’ community to unite and raise their voice against what he described as injustice.

Baloch called on the Chief Minister of Balochistan to take immediate notice and halt the ongoing action against the senior doctor.
