JUI-F Lawmaker Accuses PML-N of Political Opportunism Over Criticism of Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Quetta/Noshki: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) National Assembly member and Chief Whip Haji Mir Muhammad Usman Badini has strongly criticized recent remarks by some Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders against JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, describing them as an act of political opportunism and hypocrisy.

In a statement, Badini said PML-N leaders should remember that during previous political crises, they frequently sought Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s support, praised his political wisdom, and consulted him on key national issues. He alleged that the same leaders are now criticizing him after coming to power.

He described Maulana Fazlur Rehman as a principled and influential political figure who has consistently worked for the protection of the Constitution, democracy, and parliamentary traditions. According to Badini, attempts to target the JUI-F chief for political point-scoring are irresponsible and damaging to the credibility of those making such statements.

Badini said that while every political party has the right to disagree with others, political differences should remain within the bounds of decency, ethics, and mutual respect. He urged PML-N to discourage its members from making what he termed irresponsible statements and to remember its own political conduct in the past.

Reaffirming his party’s stance, Badini said JUI-F would continue its struggle under the leadership of Maulana Fazlur Rehman for democratic values, constitutional principles, and the protection of public rights, adding that the party would not be intimidated by what he described as baseless propaganda or negative political rhetoric.
