Gandapur Expresses Anger Over Alleged Withdrawal of Security; KP Government Denies Claim

**Islamabad:** Former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Ali Amin Gandapur, has expressed anger over the alleged withdrawal of his security, while the provincial government has denied the reports.

Speaking to the media, Gandapur confirmed that his security was withdrawn on the orders of the Chief Security Officer a day earlier. He stated that he had been provided with one jammer vehicle, two double-cabin vehicles, and a staff of 14 personnel, including a driver. He added that Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) is a sensitive area and that he has previously received threat alerts due to his position as former chief minister and his government’s counter-terrorism policies.

Gandapur said that despite DI Khan being a terrorism-affected region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, his security had been withdrawn. He claimed that upon inquiring from the chief minister, he was told that the orders had come “from above.” He further remarked that if there was a shortage of vehicles at the Chief Minister’s House, he could send his own vehicles, adding that if security or vehicles were reallocated to him, he would refuse to accept them again.

He criticized the move as unjustified, stating that despite his party being in power in the province, such action had been taken without reason.

Earlier, the Press Secretary to Chief Minister Muhammad Suhail Afridi dismissed the circulating claims, stating that there was no truth to reports suggesting that the chief minister had ordered the withdrawal of Gandapur’s security. He clarified that no such decision had been made, nor had any instructions been issued to the relevant authorities, terming the reports inaccurate.
