Parents of Journalist Khawar Hussain Arrive in Karachi, Father Suspects Murder

Karachi: The family of journalist Khawar Hussain, who allegedly died by suicide in Sanghar, arrived in Karachi from the United States on Monday morning. According to *Express News*, his parents and brother landed at Jinnah International Airport before traveling to Sanghar via Hyderabad.
Speaking to the media, Khawar Hussain’s father dismissed the suicide claim, stating, “My son was a very brave man. He could not have shot himself. This is murder.”
He added that the family had no known disputes or personal conflicts that could have led to such an incident.
Khawar Hussain was found dead in his own vehicle outside a private hotel on Hyderabad Road in Sanghar. Initially, local police suspected suicide. However, the family strongly believes otherwise.
Khawar Hussain was a Karachi-based journalist who had worked with several private news channels.
In response to the controversy and growing concerns, the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh has ordered a full investigation. A high-level inquiry committee has been formed, led by Additional IG CTD Sindh Azaad Khan. The team also includes DIG West Zone Karachi Irfan Baloch and SSP Sanghar Abid Baloch.
The committee has been tasked with determining whether the journalist’s death was a suicide or a targeted killing.
