UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood Praises Strong and Positive Relations Between Britain and Pakistan

UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has described relations between the United Kingdom and Pakistan as strong and highly positive, saying both governments remain in close and continuous contact.
In an exclusive interview with Geo News in London, Shabana Mahmood said that strengthening cooperation between the two countries remains a priority. She noted that the UK government is actively working to address flaws in the British immigration system, stressing that both legal and illegal migrants have, over time, exploited weaknesses within the system.
The UK Home Secretary also highlighted the need for urgent police reforms to tackle the rise in street crime, calling such reforms essential for ensuring public safety.
Speaking about her personal background, Shabana Mahmood said she identifies as British, English, a Muslim, and a resident of Birmingham. She added that her parents are originally from Azad Kashmir, a heritage she takes pride in.
On a lighter note, she shared her fondness for Pakistani cuisine, saying she enjoys cooking herself. She revealed that her specialties include *palak gosht* and *qeema*, and that she especially looks forward to eating her mother’s home-cooked food when she visits home on weekends.
