Trump Warns of New ‘Project Freedom Plus’ Operation Against Iran if Talks Fail

NEW YORK: U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that a new military operation named “Project Freedom Plus” could be launched against Iran if ongoing peace negotiations fail.
Speaking to journalists, Trump said that the United States may initiate the operation in the Strait of Hormuz if diplomatic efforts with Iran do not move forward.
“If talks are unsuccessful, we may return to Project Freedom, but this time it will be ‘Project Freedom Plus,’” Trump stated. However, he did not provide details regarding the possible scope or elements of the proposed operation.
Trump further claimed that Pakistan had previously urged the United States not to proceed with “Project Freedom,” adding that the operation had been suspended.
According to a report by NBC News, pressure from Saudi Arabia also played a role in Trump’s decision to halt the earlier operation.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and continued international focus on security and stability in the Gulf region.
