Trump Claims Iran Has Missiles Capable of Reaching Europe and US Cities

WASHINGTON:US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has developed missiles capable of reaching Europe and targeting American cities, including San Diego and Los Angeles.

Addressing an election rally in the US state of Mississippi, Trump alleged that Iran had started the war against the United States, insisting that Washington had not initiated the conflict.

Defending the economic consequences of the military operation, Trump said he had expected oil prices to rise much higher than they had.

He said he had been fully prepared for the economic impact of the action because, in his view, the United States had no other option. He added that the operation should have been carried out much earlier.

Commenting on the ceasefire, the US president said he had never been particularly fond of the arrangement. He stated that the United States had tried to act in good faith by agreeing to a ceasefire, but he considered the move a waste of time.

Trump’s claims regarding Iran’s missile capabilities and the origins of the conflict were made during his political address.
