CM Balochistan Issues Ultimatum Over Excess Airfares from Quetta: Airline Managers Could Face Arrest Under M.P.O

QUETTA – Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, has issued a stern warning over the collection of excessive airfares on flights departing from Quetta to other parts of the country. Speaking during a session of the Provincial Assembly, he criticized the parity of fares between Quetta-Karachi and Quetta-Dubai routes, calling it unfair to citizens.

The Chief Minister stated that despite sending letters to the Prime Minister and the Aviation Minister, no satisfactory response had been received. He warned that if airlines do not reduce fares, the government has the authority to arrest airline managers under Section 16 of the Maintenance of Public Order (M.P.O.), citing the risk of public unrest at airports due to inflated fares.

Additionally, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti reaffirmed his commitment to addressing grievances regarding the mistreatment of Pashtuns in Sindh and confirmed that a proposal concerning official events for government guests, raised by Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, had been withdrawn upon his request.
