Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Accuses Government of Patronizing Terrorism and Lawlessness in Balochistan

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) The Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) has strongly claimed that the ongoing wave of terrorism, barbaric incidents, and lawlessness in the province is being carried out under government patronage.A condolence reference was held at the party’s central secretariat in Quetta on the 28th death anniversary of former Central General Secretary Arshad Sher Ali Bacha. The reference was presided over by Deputy Chairman Abdul Rauf Lala. PMAP Central General Secretary Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal and Central Secretary Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai addressed the gathering.Speakers paid rich tributes to Sher Ali Bacha for his lifelong struggle for Pashtun national rights, his commitment to pro-people politics, and his outstanding national, political, democratic, and literary services. They highlighted that he began his political journey in 1963, founded the Pakistan Mazdoor Kisan Party, and played a key role in the 1986 merger that led to the formation of Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party.The speakers criticized the current “puppet government” imposed through money, power, and Form-47, saying it is non-representative. They accused the government of undermining the Constitution, weakening the judiciary, muzzling the press, and creating political instability, which has pushed the country into multidimensional crises.The party called for strengthening the struggle under the leadership of PMAP Chairman and Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, for the supremacy of the Constitution, parliamentary sovereignty, and the establishment of a genuine democratic federation based on equality of nations.On Law and Order Situation
The speakers alleged that the continuous wave of terrorism and brutal incidents in the province is actually continuing under official patronage. No culprits have been arrested in cases of targeted killings, burning of vehicles worth millions, looting, kidnapping for ransom, or destruction of property. They described government claims of “writ of the state” as nothing but dust thrown in the eyes of the public. Major highways including Quetta-Karachi, Quetta-Taftan, Quetta-Sukkur, and Quetta-Dera Ghazi Khan are either closed or extremely dangerous for travel. No district in the province is safe. Armed men are openly looting citizens, firing at vehicles, snatching cars, emptying cargo trucks, and kidnapping drivers.Three-Day Jirga Announced
PMAP Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai has announced a three-day grand Jirga in Quetta from 29 to 31 August 2026. The Jirga will deliberate on the current situation and future course of action. Participants will present valuable suggestions through mutual consultation for a peaceful and prosperous future. The upcoming Jirga is being described as highly significant in the light of the historic Bannu Jirga 2022 decisions.
