Balochistan Government Expands Green Bus Project: 21 New Modern Buses to Serve Quetta and Turbat

Turbat:The Government of Balochistan has taken another major step to provide **safe, comfortable, and dignified transport** to its citizens. According to **Provincial Transport Secretary Mohammad Hayat Kakar**, the success of the **Green Bus Project** has led to the purchase of **21 additional modern buses**, including special provisions for women.
Acting on the **special directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti**, the new fleet includes:
* **17 buses allocated to Quetta**,
* **4 buses designated for Turbat**.
Among the 17 buses in Quetta:
* **5 will be “Pink Buses”**, **reserved exclusively for women** and operated during designated hours.
* The remaining **12 Green Buses** will run on various urban routes to facilitate public transport needs.
The **inspection and shipment** of all buses have been completed, and the fleet is expected to be operational on the roads of Quetta and Turbat **very soon**.
This initiative aims to **enhance the quality of urban mobility** and also contribute to **employment generation** in the province.
Currently, around **8,000 to 9,000 passengers** travel daily via public buses. With the launch of the new fleet, the Transport Department anticipates this number will rise to **40,000 to 50,000 passengers daily**.
Secretary Hayat Kakar emphasized that the government is committed to providing **modern, safe, and respectable transportation** so that the people of Balochistan can travel in **comfort and dignity**.
