National Party Condemns Government’s Decision to Declare More Balochistan Areas as “A Areas
Quetta:The National Party has strongly condemned the government’s decision to include several districts of Balochistan, including *Awaran, Panjgur, Kech, Qila Abdullah,* and *Chaman*, in the “A Area” category, calling it a blatant display of authoritarianism.
National Party leaders *Mir Rahmat Saleh Baloch* and *Khir Jan Baloch* criticized the move, stating that due to the government’s incompetence, the security situation in Balochistan has already deteriorated. They argued that the government is attempting to cover up its failures by dissolving the *Levies Force* and imposing further hardship on the people.
The leaders alleged that the decision to shift districts from “B Areas” to “A Areas” is a deliberate anti-people step. They described this decision as a violation of democratic values, equating it to a form of dictatorship. According to the National Party, this move is a direct attack on the historical role of the *Levies Force*, which has played a significant part in maintaining peace and order in the province.
The party emphasized that, in contrast to areas under police control, which have witnessed a rise in crime rates, the *Levies Force* has consistently contributed to stability in Balochistan. They pointed out that despite *Gwadar* being moved to “A Area” earlier, the security situation there has only worsened, further proving that the government’s measures have exacerbated rather than resolved security concerns.
National Party leaders also expressed concern that eliminating the *Levies Force* would not only disband a vital security apparatus but also undermine public trust and peace in the region. They accused the government of shifting the burden of its failures onto the people.
In response to this unjust decision, the National Party vowed to launch a protest movement across the province if the decision is not reversed. The party also declared that they would spare no effort in protecting the rights of the people of Balochistan and ensuring the reinstatement of the *Levies Force*.
In closing, the National Party urged the people of Balochistan to unite and raise their voices against this injustice to protect their rights and the historical significance of the *Levies Force*.
