16 Landlords, 163 Afghan Nationals Arrested in Rawalpindi Crackdown

**RAWALPINDI:** Police in Rawalpindi have arrested 16 landlords for renting out properties to Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan. A total of 163 undocumented Afghan citizens were taken into custody and transferred to a holding center during a three-day crackdown.

According to *Express News*, police registered 51 cases in various stations, including City, Pirwadhai, Waris Khan, Banni, New Town, Sadiqabad, Ratta Amral, R.A. Bazaar, Race Course, Wah Cantt, Chaklala, Airport, Taxila, Sadar Wah, Civil Lines, Morgah, Naseerabad, Mandra, Jatli, Sadar Bairooni, Gujar Khan, Dhamial, Kallar Syedan, and Rawat.

Rawalpindi Police have urged citizens not to rent out properties to illegal foreign residents, warning that any Pakistani found doing so will face legal action. Police further advised that undocumented foreigners are not permitted to rent, purchase, or sell any property, nor operate businesses or vehicles within Pakistan.

The statement added that employers should avoid hiring illegal foreign workers. Legally residing foreign nationals have been instructed to ensure proper registration with their respective local police stations.
