Hafiz Naeem Urges Government to Provide Jobs for Disabled People Under Quota System
LAHORE:Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, emphasized the importance of disabled individuals in society and families, stating that they are an essential part of the community. He highlighted that if the existing laws regarding disabled individuals were fully implemented, many of them could become the breadwinners of their families through jobs allocated under the disability quota system.
Speaking at a ceremony on the occasion of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, organized by Al-Khidmat Foundation at Mansura, Lahore, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman pointed out that the current legal framework offers job opportunities for disabled people, but insufficient implementation has hindered them from benefiting fully.
He further added that the Al-Khidmat Foundation provides free wheelchairs to anyone in Pakistan who requires one, emphasizing their commitment to supporting the disabled community. He appealed to the government to take immediate steps to ensure disabled individuals are provided jobs under the government quota system, urging for more inclusive policies and better enforcement.
According to Hafiz Naeem, there are approximately 9 million disabled people in Pakistan, a number that requires urgent attention in terms of legal rights and employment opportunities.
