Russia Ready to Supply Cheap Oil to Pakistan, Says Russian Ambassador

Islamabad: Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev has stated that Russia is ready to sell oil to Pakistan at discounted rates if Islamabad reaches out.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Ambassador Khorev said, “We are prepared to sell oil to Pakistan, and the country can benefit from this opportunity. As far as I know, Pakistan has not yet contacted Russia for oil purchases. If Pakistan does get in touch, we will provide it at a lower price. The energy sector is a key pillar of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.”
On regional tensions, he noted that Iran has long-standing military and technical cooperation with Russia. “Iran’s recent actions were in response to U.S. military installations in the Gulf. I cannot comment further on Iran’s operations or the situation in the Middle East. The situation remains uncertain,” he said.
Khorev criticized former U.S. President Donald Trump’s military policies, saying the world is surprised by them and it is impossible to predict when or how the current tensions will end. “The situation is complex,” he added.
Addressing the recent school attack in Iran, he condemned the incident that reportedly killed 170 children, calling it “highly condemnable” and urging all parties to refrain from the use of force. He emphasized that solutions should be pursued through political and diplomatic channels under the United Nations Charter.
The ambassador also accused the U.S. and Israel of exacerbating the crisis in Iran by using force and attempting to weaken Iranian leadership, warning that these actions are creating divisions within the Islamic world.
