National Party, BSO Demand Return of Afghan Refugees Arriving After 1979
QUETTA: The National Party and Baloch Students Organization (BSO) have demanded that all Afghan refugees who arrived in Pakistan after 1979 be repatriated to Afghanistan without discrimination based on ethnicity or language.
In a provincial press release, the organizations also called for the cancellation of fake citizenship documents and identity cards allegedly obtained by Afghan refugees. They clarified, however, that all communities settled in Balochistan before 1979 would be recognized as equal citizens of the province.
The statement said the party would not compromise on its principled position regarding the issue.
Meanwhile, the National Party and BSO said they had taken serious notice of what they described as a media trial against the provincial president within party circles. Show-cause notices have been issued to those allegedly involved in social media propaganda and violations of party discipline.
The statement said the individuals concerned had been given three days to provide satisfactory explanations. Failure to do so would result in action under the legal authority of the provincial president. It added that recommendations for strict action against members of the Central Committee would also be submitted to the central leadership.
