Aleema Khan Denies Imran Khan Told Sisters to Stay Out of Politics
RAWALPINDI: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan, has denied reports that he instructed his sisters to stay away from politics, calling such reports propaganda allegedly spread by intelligence agencies.
Speaking to journalists outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi, Aleema Khan was asked about reports that Imran Khan had told his sister Noreen Niazi that politics was the responsibility of his party and that his sisters had nothing to do with politics.
Responding to the question, Aleema Khan said, “He said this neither to Noreen Apa nor to Dr Uzma. So why are you spreading these stories from the agencies?”
She also spoke about the Supreme Court’s order regarding Imran Khan’s transfer to a hospital. Aleema Khan said that when the court issued the order, the news became breaking news in more than 80 countries around the world.
She warned that if Imran Khan was still not transferred to a hospital, international media would again report the matter, adding that the rulers were bringing embarrassment to the country internationally through the issue.

Aleema Khan said the Supreme Court had prohibited her from directly commenting on medical reports and that she was fully complying with the court’s directions.
However, she maintained that the facts she presented during her press conference regarding what happened with Dr Uzma Khan and Dr Faisal Sultan were based on what had occurred.
Earlier, an unusual situation developed during the hearing of the November protest case before Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Amjad Ali Shah in Rawalpindi.
During the cross-examination of witness Fatahullah Barki, the prosecution asked questions concerning Aleema Khan’s alleged benami properties. Aleema Khan then came to the rostrum and requested the court to record her statement.
When Aleema Khan began having her statement recorded, her own defence counsel, Faisal Malik, attempted to stop her. Judge Amjad Ali Shah expressed displeasure and directed those present to maintain courtroom decorum.
As the situation became tense, the judge left his seat and went to his chambers, resulting in a temporary halt in the proceedings.
