Sale of Government Jobs Ended in Balochistan, Recruitment Based Solely on Merit: Shahid Rind

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister’s Adviser for Information and Political Affairs Shahid Rind has said the provincial government has taken practical steps to ensure transparency, merit and equal opportunities in government recruitment.

He said that under the clear policy of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, government jobs would no longer be sold and deserving youth would be given employment opportunities solely on the basis of merit.

Shahid Rind said that under this policy, 4,500 positions in the Education Department and 111 positions in the Finance Department had been filled through transparent recruitment processes.

He added that the recent appointment of 19 officers to the Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) was also part of the same policy, with no political or administrative recommendations accepted during the recruitment process.

According to Shahid Rind, the fact that no candidate from the chief minister’s home district was selected in the BRA recruitment process was clear evidence of transparency and merit.

The chief minister’s adviser said that prioritising merit would not only improve the efficiency of government institutions but also help restore young people’s confidence in state institutions.

He reaffirmed that the provincial government would not compromise on the principle of merit under any circumstances.
