Haleem Plaza Tragedy: Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party Visits Affected Camp, Demands Immediate Relief

Quetta (Qudrat Daily) A representative delegation of the Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP), led by Provincial President Nasrullah Khan Zairay, visited the protest camp established by the victims of the Haleem Plaza tragedy. The delegation included Provincial Office Secretary Nida Singer, Provincial Deputy Secretary Professor Asad Tareen, Quetta District Deputy Secretary Syed Abdullah Agha, Ismatullah Tareen, district committee members Farid Kamal and Qudratullah Khilji, Anwar Shaheen, Nizam Khan Kharal, and Pakhtunkhwa Students Organization (PSO) leader Nangyal Khan Baloch, along with other party leaders.
On the occasion, leaders of the traders’ association Yaseen Agha and Abdul Rahim Kakar, plaza owner Afrasiab Khan, and other affected individuals briefed the delegation in detail about the Haleem Plaza incident. The victims informed that approximately sixteen days ago, an unfortunate incident occurred at around 4 a.m., resulting in the complete destruction of Haleem Plaza by fire, causing losses worth millions of rupees to shopkeepers.
According to the affected traders, no adequate government assistance or effective relief has been provided so far, leaving them in severe financial distress. The livelihoods of shopkeepers and laborers have completely come to a halt, and several families are on the verge of starvation.
The PNAP delegation carefully listened to the problems of the victims and expressed full solidarity with them. Party leaders stated that the Haleem Plaza tragedy is not merely the loss of a building but a serious issue affecting the livelihoods of hundreds of families, which cannot be ignored. They demanded that the government and district administration conduct a transparent investigation into the incident, identify those responsible, and provide immediate financial assistance, alternative business facilities, and a comprehensive rehabilitation package to the affected families.
The leaders further said that abandoning small traders and the working class in such circumstances is deeply regrettable. It is the government’s responsibility to ensure immediate relief to the victims and enable them to stand on their own feet again. The Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party made it clear that if immediate relief is not provided, the party will raise the voice of the affected people at every democratic and constitutional forum.
