Balochistan High Court Suspends FIR Against Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court has suspended a case registered against opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, providing temporary relief in the matter.
The case was heard by a two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Kamran Malikhel and Justice Gul Hassan Tareen. The petitioner was represented by senior lawyers Kamran Murtaza and Habibullah Nasir.
The FIR was registered at Chaman Police Station on allegations of delivering incendiary and hate-related speeches against the leader of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and opposition figure Mahmood Khan Achakzai.
During the proceedings, the petitioner challenged the registration of the case in the high court, arguing that it was unlawful. After initial hearing, the court suspended the FIR, halting further proceedings in the case for the time being.
According to sources, the court’s decision has temporarily stopped the investigation process, and further legal aspects will be reviewed in the next hearing.
Following the verdict, Advocate Habibullah Nasir welcomed the court’s decision, terming it a victory for constitutional and legal rights.
