Balochistan Investment Board VP Discusses Energy Sector Growth with OGRA and LPG Association Officials

Quetta:Bilal Khan Kakar, Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Investment Board, met with Zenul Abideen Qureshi, member of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), and Irfan Khokhar, Chairman of the All Pakistan LPG Association, at his office. The meeting focused on addressing the challenges faced by the oil and gas sector in Balochistan, along with potential solutions. Discussions also covered the LPG sector, energy infrastructure, and investment opportunities in the region.
Participants emphasized the need for increased private sector involvement and public-private partnerships to ensure sustainable energy development in the province. Bilal Khan Kakar reaffirmed the provincial government’s strong commitment to promoting renewable energy, stating, “The Balochistan government is determined to boost renewable energy. We are actively encouraging the private sector to invest in LPG terminals and renewable energy projects to meet the province’s energy needs sustainably.”
Kakar further highlighted the abundant opportunities for hydropower and solar energy in Balochistan, emphasizing that policy reforms and investment incentives are essential to tap into these resources effectively.
OGRA and the All Pakistan LPG Association also expressed their willingness to collaborate for the development of the energy sector in Balochistan. The parties agreed to continue their dialogue and cooperation moving forward.
