Balochistan Minister Welcomes U.S. Decision to Designate BLA and Majeed Brigade as Terrorist Organizations

Quetta:Spokesperson to President Asif Ali Zardari for Balochistan and Provincial Agriculture Minister **Mir Ali Hassan** has strongly welcomed the United States’ decision to officially designate the **Baloch Liberation Army (BLA)** and its offshoot **Majeed Brigade** as terrorist organizations.

Calling it a **historic and positive step**, Minister Mir Ali Hassan described the move as a significant development in the **global fight against terrorism**. He emphasized that the decision is an international acknowledgment of the fact that **Pakistan—particularly Balochistan—has been a victim of terrorism for decades**, where both **security forces and civilians have made immense sacrifices** for peace and stability.

He stated that terrorist groups like the BLA and Majeed Brigade have long targeted **innocent civilians, security personnel, development projects, and key national installations**, causing widespread destruction and hindering the progress and prosperity of the region.

“This step by the United States sends a **clear message to the international community**,” Mir Ali Hassan said, “that groups involved in violent extremism and anti-state activities will no longer find space or legitimacy on the global stage.”

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its efforts to eliminate terrorism and restore lasting peace in Balochistan.
