Balochistan to Recruit 4,000 Doctors and 14,000 Teachers, Shift 27,000 Tube Wells to Solar Power: Chief Secretary

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan has said that the provincial government is utilizing all available resources to provide better public services, with wide-ranging reforms underway across all departments to improve performance and ensure benefits reach the common people.
Addressing participants of the 18th National Workshop, the Chief Secretary stated that, to ensure timely and quality healthcare services, the government has recruited 4,000 doctors and staff on a temporary basis. He said that 918 Basic Health Units (BHUs) across the province have been made fully functional, ensuring the presence of doctors at primary healthcare facilities. Under the health card scheme, treatment has been provided to more than 300,000 patients.
In the education sector, Shakeel Qadir Khan said that 14,000 teachers have been recruited, making a total of 14,556 schools functional across the province. Additionally, more than 650 schools have been established through the Balochistan Education Foundation, resulting in the enrollment of over 95,000 children in schools.
He further said that under a 10-year development plan, special focus is being placed on economic, social, environmental, and infrastructure development in the province. As part of energy sector reforms, 27,000 tube wells across Balochistan will be converted to solar power with the support of the federal government to reduce electricity costs and promote sustainable energy.
The Chief Secretary also announced that around 3,000 youth from Balochistan will be sent abroad for employment opportunities, aiming to reduce unemployment and enhance skill development. He reiterated the government’s commitment to long-term reforms for sustainable development and improved service delivery in the province.
