Landowners Protest QDA’s Controversial Dairy Farm Scheme, Warn of Possible Violence

*Quetta (Daily Qudrat)* Landowners of Jaddi Pashti lands in the Drykaba Zhodar area, including Malik Aslam Bazei, Muhammad Yousuf Bazei, Habib-ur-Rehman, Atiq Ullah, Ahmad Ullah, Islam Muhammad, Shams Ullah, and Zafar Ullah, have strongly opposed the Quetta Development Authority’s (QDA) alleged attempts to initiate a dairy farm scheme on disputed land.
The landowners stated that the property is already under a court-issued stay order and that ownership disputes have been under litigation for a long time. They recalled that clashes and skirmishes previously occurred on this land, which were widely reported in both mainstream and social media, resulting in multiple injuries. They warned that initiating any development activity on the disputed land could further destabilize law and order in the area.
According to the landowners, the Additional Commissioner has already issued a stay order regarding the land, and matters related to its reorganization are pending before the High Court and the Commissioner of Quetta. They said any attempt by a government agency to purchase or develop the land would violate judicial orders.
The landowners alleged that certain QDA officials were colluding with a private mafia group, which had previously sold plots of the same land illegally to citizens and is now attempting to sell the land back to the government at inflated prices using forged documents, potentially causing significant losses to the state treasury. They further claimed that the private developer involved does not possess the QDA’s NOC for three to four housing schemes in Nawan Kali, and cases against the developer are also pending in the Anti-Corruption Department.
The landowners appealed to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Chief Secretary, Chief Justice, DG NAB, and DG Anti-Corruption to take immediate notice and halt the dairy farm scheme to prevent potential violence. They demanded that alternative, non-controversial government land be allocated for the project and called for strict legal action against all involved government and private parties.
They emphasized that they would not relinquish their property rights and vowed to continue resisting the scheme through all legal and democratic platforms.
