PkNAP Chairman Khushal Khan Kakar Demands Immediate Arrest of Hashim Khan Noorzai’s Killers
Quetta: Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) Chairman and Member of the National Assembly Khushal Khan Kakar has strongly condemned the killing of prominent businessman, social figure, and Kabul Jan Hotel owner Hashim Khan Noorzai, calling for the immediate arrest of those responsible and their facilitators.
Kakar expressed his condolences while visiting the residence of the deceased, where he met Hashim Khan Noorzai’s father, brothers, and other family members to offer sympathies and prayers. Several senior party leaders, including Central Information Secretary Muhammad Isa Roshan, Central Finance Secretary Muhammad Yousaf Khan Kakar, Provincial President Nasrullah Khan Zehri, and other party officials, accompanied him.
Speaking on the occasion, Kakar said the law and order situation in southern Pashtun areas and across Balochistan had become increasingly alarming, citing frequent incidents of targeted killings, armed attacks, kidnappings, and other violent crimes that have created fear and insecurity among the public.
He alleged that the government and relevant institutions had failed to fulfill their fundamental responsibility of protecting the lives and property of citizens. Kakar stated that when the killers of murder victims remain unidentified and transparent investigations are not conducted, serious questions arise regarding the performance and authority of state institutions.
Referring to the case, he said, “If the murderer of a victim is unknown, then the state becomes the murderer,” emphasizing that such a situation is deeply troubling for any democratic and civilized society.
The PkNAP chairman urged the federal and provincial governments, law enforcement agencies, and relevant authorities to conduct an immediate, transparent, and impartial investigation into the killing of Hashim Khan Noorzai, arrest the perpetrators and anyone who assisted them, and bring them before the courts to ensure justice and restore public confidence in the legal system.
Kakar described the deceased as a respected and successful businessman who had invested in Quetta by establishing Kabul Jan Hotel and other commercial ventures, creating employment opportunities for hundreds of people. He said Noorzai was widely respected in business circles and was also known for his social services and commitment to public welfare.
He termed the killing not only a tragic loss but also a serious setback for the province’s business, investment, and economic environment.
Kakar concluded by expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul, asking for strength and patience for the family in bearing their loss.
