Former ISI Chief Faiz Hameed Sentenced to 14 Years Rigorous Imprisonment

Rawalpindi: Former Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General (retired) Faiz Hameed, has been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment by a Field General Court Martial under the Pakistan Army Act.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Faiz Hameed was found guilty of four charges, including involvement in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act in a manner detrimental to the state, misuse of authority and official resources, and causing harm to individuals.

The ISPR statement noted that the court martial process began on August 12, 2024, and lasted for 15 months. After a detailed legal proceeding, the accused was convicted on all counts, and the sentence was announced on December 11, 2025.

The military spokesperson emphasized that the Field General Court Martial complied with all legal provisions and ensured that Faiz Hameed was granted full legal rights, including the choice of his defense team. The convicted individual retains the right to appeal in the appropriate forum.

The ISPR further stated that separate proceedings are underway regarding Faiz Hameed’s alleged involvement in political agitation and other related matters aimed at inciting instability.

The verdict marks the conclusion of an extensive legal process conducted under the Pakistan Army Act against the former three-star general.
