Balochistan Cabinet Brings All Technical and Vocational Institutes Under BTEVTA

Quetta:In a landmark decision set to transform the technical and vocational education sector in the province, the Balochistan cabinet has approved the integration of all technical and vocational institutes under the **Balochistan Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (BTEVTA)**. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
Under the new arrangement, all skill-development centers will now function under a single administrative command, officially completing the integration process. The institutes brought under BTEVTA’s management include:
* Labour and Manpower Technical Training Centres
* Industries Training Centres
* Social Welfare Training Centres
* Polytechnic Colleges
For the first time in the province’s history, the entire TVET sector has been consolidated under one umbrella. Experts believe this reform will lead to **better resource utilization, curriculum standardization, and improved operational efficiency**.
The key objective of this restructuring is to **enhance the quality and relevance of training courses**, aligning them with international standards and market-driven demands. With a uniform policy framework, BTEVTA will now design programs that equip students with skills required both domestically and abroad.
According to the authority’s spokesperson, the move is youth-centric: *“The ultimate goal is to provide Balochistan’s youth with world-class technical education and skills, improving their competence and enabling them to secure jobs not only in Pakistan but also in international markets.”*
This administrative reform is widely regarded as a **major step toward modernizing skill development in Balochistan**, with long-term benefits for employment generation and economic growth.
