Enforced Disappearance of Baloch Students and Professor Condemned by BSO-Pajar

QUETTA:The Baloch Students Organization – Pajar (BSO-Pajar) has strongly condemned the alleged enforced disappearance of Dr. Usman Baloch, a faculty member at the Pakistan Studies Department of BUITEMS University, and his younger brother Numan Baloch, a student at Degree College Saryab and a member of BSO-Pajar.
In a statement issued by the central spokesperson of the organization, it was revealed that on the night of August 12, both individuals were reportedly abducted in Quetta under mysterious circumstances. “This is a highly condemnable act,” the spokesperson said, adding that the enforced disappearance of educators clearly indicates a systematic targeting of every segment of society in Balochistan.
The spokesperson expressed grave concern over the security situation in the province, stating that “no one affiliated with any school of thought in Balochistan feels safe today,” calling it a serious indictment of the state, the government, and institutions of justice.
BSO-Pajar has demanded the immediate and safe recovery of Dr. Usman Baloch and Numan Baloch, stating that the growing number of disappearances—particularly of students and teachers—has caused deep concern in political and social circles.
“If the state fails to ensure their safe return, BSO-Pajar will join hands with other student organizations and launch protests across the region,” the spokesperson warned.
The organization urged the government and relevant state institutions to take immediate action, stating that enforced disappearances are not only unlawful but also destabilizing for an already fragile region.
