Achakzai Calls for Constitutional Supremacy, Dialogue-Based Regional Peace at Chaman Rally

Chaman: Chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, head of the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan, and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai addressed a large public gathering in Chaman, calling for complete constitutional supremacy as the only way to govern and stabilize Pakistan.
He said that all state institutions must operate strictly within constitutional limits and the elected parliament should be recognized as the supreme authority. He emphasized that both domestic and foreign policies should be formulated through parliament.
Achakzai stressed the need for equal distribution of resources and powers among provinces, arguing that fair provincial rights are essential for national development.
Referring to Afghanistan, he described relations as brotherly and said that regional peace can only be achieved through dialogue rather than conflict. He proposed a regional conference of neighboring countries to address Afghan issues openly.
He warned that war-based policies could destabilize the entire region, urging respect for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and opposition to external interference.
Criticizing border restrictions along the Durand Line, he said the people on both sides share common ethnic and cultural ties and called for free trade zones to ease economic hardship.
He also expressed concern over the treatment of Afghan refugees and said injustice would further fuel resentment in the region.
Concluding his speech, he reaffirmed his demand for constitutional restoration, democratic strengthening, and equal rights for all nationalities in Pakistan.
