Hajj Sermon: Imam of Grand Mosque Prays for Justice for Palestinians, Urges Unity and Righteousness

Makkah, Saudi Arabia:Delivering the Hajj sermon at Masjid Nimrah in Arafat, Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah, Imam of Masjid al-Haram, made a heartfelt appeal for righteousness, unity among Muslims, and divine justice for the oppressed—particularly the innocent women and children in Palestine.
“May Allah destroy the oppressors who kill innocent Palestinian women and children,” he prayed, invoking divine justice. He also prayed for the support and protection of Palestinian brothers and sisters, calling on Allah to uproot the tyrants.
Addressing millions of pilgrims gathered in the sacred plains of Arafat, Sheikh Saleh emphasized the importance of Taqwa (God-consciousness) and called on believers to fear Allah and stay away from sin. “Satan is the enemy of Muslims—stay away from him,” he warned.
He highlighted the core teachings of Islam, stating that the religion has been perfected and chosen by Allah as a complete way of life for humanity. “Righteous deeds erase sins, so strive to do more good,” he urged.
The Imam stressed the importance of worship, quoting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): “Worship Allah as if you see Him.” He explained that Islam has three levels: Islam, Iman (faith), and Ihsan (spiritual excellence), and that the highest is Ihsan.
He reminded pilgrims of essential values like maintaining ties with parents, fulfilling promises, showing kindness, and upholding modesty—”Modesty is a branch of faith,” he said.
Sheikh Saleh urged pilgrims to make frequent remembrance of Allah during Hajj, offer heartfelt prayers, and seek goodness in both this world and the Hereafter. Citing the Qur’an, he said, “Help one another in righteousness and piety, and do not cooperate in sin and aggression.”
He concluded by calling on Muslims to speak the truth, remain patient, and avoid lying. Special prayers were also offered for Muslims around the world, asking Allah to grant peace, unity, and protection to the Ummah.
The sermon resonated across the globe, with millions tuning in to live broadcasts translated into dozens of languages, capturing the spiritual and moral essence of Hajj.
