14 Killed, 644 Injured in 434 Road Accidents Across Balochistan During Eid Holidays

QUETTA: A sharp increase in road accidents was reported on major highways across Balochistan during the three days of Eid-ul-Azha, resulting in 14 deaths and 644 injuries, officials said.

According to the Emergency Response Centre Balochistan, a total of 434 traffic accidents were recorded across the province during the Eid holidays, with victims shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The report stated that on the Quetta–Karachi National Highway’s Winder-Lasbela section, 23 accidents occurred, leaving 6 people dead and 34 passengers injured.

Similarly, on the Gidar–Sorab section, 17 accidents claimed 4 lives, while on the Saranan–Pishin section, 14 separate incidents resulted in the deaths of 2 passengers.

Authorities expressed concern over the rising number of road accidents and urged travelers to follow traffic rules and exercise caution while driving on highways.
