Pakistan’s System Built on Injustice, Exploiting the Poor, Says JI Balochistan Chief Hidayat-ur-Rehman

Quetta:Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and provincial assembly member from the *Haq Do Tehreek*, **Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch**, strongly criticized the ruling elite, labeling the current political and economic system as corrupt, unjust, and oppressive. Speaking at a protest camp organized by the Grand Alliance outside the Quetta Press Club on Sunday, he accused the state of failing its workers, poor citizens, and institutions.

Joined by Zahir Akhtar Baloch, Prof. Abdul Qudoos Kakar, Rehmatullah Zehri, Ghulam Sarwar Mengal, Younis Kakar, and others, Hidayat-ur-Rehman denounced what he called a **”rotten system based on lies”**, declaring it a betrayal of Islamic principles and justice.

> “Our rulers pay millions in pensions to retired elites, but cannot afford Rs. 10,000 for poor workers. This is a system of dual standards. It must end,” he said.

He pointed out that the judiciary and powerful institutions have funds for extravagant pensions, yet teachers and public servants are left unpaid. “Fireworks and boxing matches cost billions, but universities and employees go ignored,” he added.

Maulana Hidayat blamed **the IMF-backed economic model** for the imposition of illegal taxes and policies that crush the working class. “We are a nation of slaves pretending to be free. On Independence Day, we chant hollow slogans while the reality is oppression and exploitation,” he remarked.

He declared that **freedom of expression and protest has been systematically suppressed in Balochistan**, leading every segment of society to the streets in search of justice. “Even on public holidays in June, banks will remain open—not for the people, but to funnel funds into the pockets of the elite,” he added.

Calling the current governance structure a curse, Hidayat-ur-Rehman said:

> “Whoever designed this unjust system—alive or dead—I send curses upon them. We will raise our voice on every forum, including the assembly, to protect this land and fight for the rights of its people.”

He reaffirmed that Jamaat-e-Islami and the Haq Do Tehreek will continue to fight for the rights of poor employees, teachers, and common citizens, demanding reforms, transparency, and justice across the board.
