Security Measures Tightened in Quetta; Safe City Cameras to Be Fully Restored Within 7–10 Days
Quetta: Security authorities have announced stricter security measures in Quetta to strengthen law and order, protect sensitive installations, and ensure the safe transportation of essential supplies, particularly fuel.
During a press briefing, officials said restoration work on the damaged surveillance cameras installed under the Safe City Project is progressing rapidly, and all affected cameras are expected to be fully operational within the next seven to ten days.
According to the authorities, several Safe City cameras installed across different parts of the city were damaged during recent unrest. Once restoration is completed, advanced surveillance will resume at major intersections, highways, entry and exit points, and other sensitive locations.
Officials also announced the formation of special security convoys to ensure the safe movement of approximately 400 fuel tankers transporting petroleum products across the province. Law enforcement personnel will escort the tankers through sensitive routes to their destinations.
Security authorities instructed tanker drivers and transport operators not to travel without official security escorts. All tankers will be dispatched according to designated schedules and approved routes under the supervision of security forces.
The briefing stated that law and order in Quetta is being further strengthened through enhanced surveillance, joint patrols, intelligence sharing, and a coordinated security strategy.
Authorities urged citizens, transporters, and the business community to comply with the issued security guidelines, promptly report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities, and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and public safety.
