Section 144 Extended Across Balochistan Amid Security Concerns

The Government of Balochistan has extended the enforcement of Section 144 for another 15 days across the province in response to ongoing security concerns. According to an official notification, the restrictions will remain in place until **August 31, 2025**.
During this period, **pillion riding on motorcycles will be banned**, and **riders are prohibited from covering their faces** while driving motorcycles. In addition, **gatherings of more than five people** in any public place are strictly prohibited. All kinds of public assemblies, protests, and rallies fall under the ban.
The government had previously imposed Section 144 from **August 1 to August 15**, which is now extended due to security threats.
Moreover, on **August 13**, the provincial government also **banned the movement of public transport vehicles at night**, restricting their operation from **5:00 PM to 5:00 AM** across all highways in the province. Violators, particularly transport companies, may face the **cancellation of route permits**.
This decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by **Provincial Secretary for Transport, Muhammad Hayat Kakar**, aimed at curbing potential threats and ensuring public safety.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and abide by the regulations. Security forces have been directed to strictly enforce the restrictions to maintain law and order in the region.
