Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Chief Vows to Seize Constitutional Rights, Launches ‘Haq Do Balochistan’ Campaign

Quetta – Member of the Provincial Assembly and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, has declared that the people of Balochistan will no longer accept token charity or utility bill discounts in the name of development — they demand their full constitutional rights. Speaking at a public gathering and during meetings with various delegations, he announced the intensification of the party’s “Haq Do Balochistan” (Give Rights to Balochistan) campaign.
He criticized the federal government and powerful institutions for continuously depriving Balochistan of its fair share in national resources, development projects, and economic opportunities. “Balochistan has been turned into a prison, and its people into prisoners,” he said. He pointed out that while mega-projects under CPEC have been completed in other provinces, Balochistan has only received checkposts and military installations in return.
The JI leader demanded the release of missing persons, an end to border restrictions that affect livelihoods, and the provision of employment and business opportunities for the youth. He emphasized the need for transparent distribution and oversight of development funds across all districts of the province.
He also accused ruling authorities of fostering corruption, drug trafficking, and injustice through misgovernance. “Our children are being killed, youth abducted, and our elders humiliated at checkpoints. This is not governance — it is organized oppression,” he asserted.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman urged all sections of society, including women, students, workers, scholars, and civil society, to join hands in the struggle for Balochistan’s rights. He announced plans for a mass protest sit-in in Quetta, aiming to gather at least 100,000 people, and a future march toward Islamabad if demands are not met.
He reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami’s leadership remains untainted by corruption and is fully committed to a peaceful, democratic, and collective struggle for justice. “Remaining silent in the face of injustice is equal to siding with the oppressors,” he concluded.
