Quetta:Chairman of Gandakha Municipal Committee, Mir Amdad Khan Jamali, criticized the Sindh government for allegedly withholding water from the Kirthar Canal, exacerbating tensions with Balochistan residents. In a media briefing, he highlighted that while ample water from the Rice and Dadu Canals is being supplied to Gandakha, the Kirthar Canal’s allocation remains restricted by Sindh Irrigation, akin to mistreatment faced by Balochistan. Khan Jamali expressed concerns over the impact on local farmers and urged immediate intervention to ensure equitable distribution before the upcoming monsoon rains in August. He called upon the Army Chief and Supreme Court of Pakistan to address the issue and uphold justice for Kirthar Canal landowners facing severe hardships.
