US Companies Urged to Capitalize on Pakistan’s Mineral Sector: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif

Islamabad (Daily Qudrat) – Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has urged American companies to take advantage of opportunities in Pakistan’s mineral sector. The Prime Minister made this statement during a meeting with a US delegation led by Eric Meyer, Senior Bureau Official and Acting Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the US Department of State, who is visiting Pakistan to attend the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum.
Prime Minister Sharif welcomed the participation of the US in the forum and emphasized that Pakistan’s mineral sector holds significant potential. He encouraged American companies to explore investment opportunities in this priority sector. The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of bilateral relations between Pakistan and the US, particularly in the context of regional peace and security, and expressed Pakistan’s desire to work closely with President Trump and his administration to strengthen bilateral ties.
He stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, and counterterrorism, which are of mutual interest to both countries.
Acting Assistant Secretary Meyer congratulated Pakistan on the successful hosting of the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum. He acknowledged the vast potential of Pakistan’s mineral sector and shared that American companies are interested in investing in the sector. Meyer also expressed the US’s desire to work closely with Pakistan on matters of shared interest and further strengthen bilateral relations.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahsan Khan Cheema, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, and other senior government officials.
