Punjab Government Announces New Airline and Bulletproof Train Project

Lahore: The Punjab government has unveiled two major transportation projects aimed at improving travel for citizens — the launch of a new provincial airline and the introduction of a bulletproof train service between Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Provincial Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bukhari, announced that the government is preparing to operate a new airline under the name “Air Punjab.” Initially, four aircraft will be leased for domestic operations, with plans to apply for an international air license after one year.
She highlighted that Punjab will be the first provincial government in Pakistan’s history to launch its own airline.
In addition to the airline, Bukhari revealed plans for a high-speed bulletproof train service between Lahore and Rawalpindi. This train is expected to significantly cut travel time, completing the journey in just 2 hours and 20 minutes.
These initiatives are part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to modernize infrastructure and provide safer, faster travel options for the public.
