Convict Sentenced in Firing Incident During PTI’s Rally in Wazirabad

Lahore: The verdict in the firing case during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder’s rally in Wazirabad has been announced.
On November 3, 2022, a shooting incident occurred during a PTI rally in Wazirabad. The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Gujranwala has delivered its decision in the case. The court sentenced the culprit, Naveed Ahmed, to two consecutive life sentences for his involvement in the attack.
The incident took place when PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, was present on a container during the rally and was injured in the shooting. Following the firing, chaos erupted at the rally, causing a stampede in which several people were injured. A total of 13 individuals were wounded, including PTI’s leader Faisal Javed and five other senior party members.
The court’s decision brings closure to this high-profile case that had raised serious concerns about the safety of political leaders during public rallies.
