Pakistan Responds to Pahalgam Incident: Sends 23 Indian Broadcasters Back to India

Lahore: Following the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam incident, Pakistan has sent 23 Indian broadcasters back to their home country amidst escalating diplomatic strains. The broadcasters were part of the team covering the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the country.
Recently, after the Pahalgam incident, India’s sports streaming channel, Fancode, had suspended the live streaming of PSL matches in India, and removed all related content, including video highlights. In response, Pakistan decided to send back the 23 Indian employees working with the PSL’s broadcasting company.
These broadcasters were sent across the Wagah border after undergoing customs and immigration procedures. Despite the tense relations between the two countries and the border being closed, the broadcasters were provided with VIP security during their stay in Pakistan.
The ongoing 10th edition of PSL, which began on April 11 and will continue until May 18, had previously enjoyed coverage by Indian sports partners, including Fancode and Sony Network. There is speculation that Sony Network may also take similar action following the developments with Fancode.
