Three Children Die After Consuming Poisonous Sweets in Hafizabad, Five in Critical Condition
Hafizabad:In a tragic incident, three children lost their lives and five others are in critical condition after consuming poisonous sweets in the vicinity of Qila Sahib Singh, a rural area near Hafizabad.
Immediately following the incident, the affected children were rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment, where three of them could not survive due to the severity of the poisoning.
Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad, Abdul Razzaq, stated that upon receiving the news, the district administration quickly sprang into action and summoned all relevant specialist doctors to the hospital. Five critically ill children were transferred to hospitals in Lahore to receive better medical care.
District Police Officer (DPO) Hafizabad, Atif Nazir, assured that a thorough investigation is underway into the incident. Senior officials from both the police and district administration are present at the scene, and samples of the poisonous sweets have been sent to a laboratory for analysis.
Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq expressed deep sorrow and grief over this heartbreaking tragedy and assured that a complete investigation is ongoing, with those responsible to be brought to justice.
