Supreme Court Bar Association Endorses 26th Constitutional Amendment: President Raoof Ata
Islamabad: The President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Mian Raoof Ata, has confirmed that the Bar Association has ratified the 26th Constitutional Amendment, which was recently passed by Parliament.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Mian Raoof Ata mentioned that he had just learned of a press conference held by senior lawyer Hamid Khan, whose stance, he said, seemed to align with the views of a political party. He added that Hamid Khan’s statements did not represent the views of the legal community, and the Supreme Court Bar would not allow anyone to impose a political agenda on the legal profession.
Raoof Ata emphasized that the lawyers’ recommendations were fully incorporated into the constitutional amendment. The Supreme Court Bar expressed complete confidence in the constitutional bench and the amendment process.
The President also stated that no one would be allowed to undermine the credibility of the constitutional bench or interfere with its work. He suggested that those dissatisfied with the bench’s formation were likely those who did not want to see the Supreme Court deliver swift and impartial justice.
