Islamabad: After several days of protests in Islamabad led by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), successful negotiations have been reached between the TLP and the government. TLP has announced an end to their sit-in following the government’s decision to boycott Israeli products, particularly in support of Palestinian Muslims.
According to Express News, the negotiations involved Rana Sanaullah, Political Affairs Advisor; Ataullah Tarar, Minister of Information; Islamabad administration officials; and senior leadership of Tehreek-e-Labbaik.
Addressing a press conference after the negotiations, Rana Sanaullah stated that the protest was aimed at highlighting injustices against oppressed Muslim Palestinians. The demands included support for Palestinian Muslims and condemnation of Israel’s actions. He assured that the government would continue efforts without delay to aid Palestinians, including dispatching over 1,000 tons of food and other relief supplies to Gaza by July 31.
He condemned Israel for its terrorist activities and targeting innocent Palestinians, calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a terrorist. He emphasized the global community’s role in bringing Israel to justice.
Rana Sanaullah underscored the need for the Muslim Ummah and the international community to play their part in ending injustices in Palestine. He announced the formation of a committee to oversee the boycott of Israeli products and goods from Israeli companies. He expressed solidarity with Palestinian Muslims alongside friends of TLP.
The successful negotiations and subsequent decisions mark a significant development in Islamabad’s stance on the Palestinian issue and the boycott of Israeli products.
