Saudi Arabia Orders Umrah Visa Holders to Leave by April 29 Amid Hajj Preparations

Makkah:As preparations for the Hajj season commence, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has directed all foreign nationals in the Kingdom on Umrah visas to **return to their home countries by April 29, 2025**.
According to the ministry, failure to depart within the specified timeframe will be considered a **violation of visa regulations**, and violators may face legal action.
Furthermore, starting **April 23**, foreign residents living in different cities across Saudi Arabia will **require special permits** to enter **Makkah**. Those seeking entry into **Makkah or the Holy Sites (Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah)** for work-related purposes must obtain permits via an official online portal.
The move is part of efforts to **streamline Hajj operations** and **prevent overcrowding and unauthorized stays** during the pilgrimage season. Authorities have urged all Umrah pilgrims and residents to comply with the regulations to avoid penalties.
