PML-N Begins Power Shows to Mark One Year in Power in Punjab and Federal Government

Lahore (Qudrat Newspaper) – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has completed one year in power in both the federal government and Punjab province. To mark the occasion, the party has started organizing public rallies across Punjab, beginning with a successful gathering in Narowal. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz described the Narowal rally as a major success, calling it a “power show” led by her. Following this, PML-N held another rally in Dera Ghazi Khan, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also showcased his political strength. According to party sources, large crowds attended both rallies, signaling a strong public support for PML-N.

Sources within PML-N clarified that these rallies are being organized by the party itself, not the government, as part of a public campaign to highlight the progress the country has made under PML-N’s leadership. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that she has solidified her position in Punjab, while Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership as Prime Minister has helped steer the country out of crises. These rallies also serve the purpose of countering former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s narrative and assessing the party’s popularity.

In addition, PML-N aims to counter criticism that it lacks the courage to engage with the public. The rallies are designed to demonstrate that the party remains deeply rooted in the masses, showcasing the successes it has achieved in its first year of governance.

Party sources revealed that the idea of holding rallies to celebrate one year in power was suggested by PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, who wanted to demonstrate to the public that PML-N remains a popular force. Nawaz Sharif congratulated Maryam Nawaz for her successful rally in Narowal and encouraged more rallies across Punjab.

The party has not officially announced the locations for upcoming rallies due to security reasons, but sources confirmed that the next rally will take place in Rawalpindi, followed by gatherings in Okara and Sargodha. These rallies are not part of election preparations, but rather aimed at strengthening PML-N’s public image and responding to the narrative put forward by Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which claims that the party has lost its popularity among the masses.
