“Learn or Larn; Multan Sultans Owner Trolls His Captain After Loss to Karachi Kings”

Karachi: In a surprising turn of events, Multan Sultans’ owner Ali Tariq trolled his own captain, Mohammad Rizwan, on social media following the team’s first defeat of the season at the hands of Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In a high-scoring match at the National Bank Stadium, Rizwan played an impressive knock, scoring an unbeaten 105 runs, including 9 fours and 5 sixes, leading his team to a target of 235. However, Karachi Kings’ batter James Vince played a blistering knock of 101 runs off just 43 balls, hitting 14 fours and 4 sixes, and guided his team to victory, stealing a win from the Sultans.
After the loss, Ali Tariq took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), humorously trolling his team, saying, “Learn (Larn) from this, especially from James Vince and Khushdil Shah!” In another post, he sarcastically added, “Well, at least we did some fielding!”
The defeat, coupled with Tariq’s controversial statements in recent weeks, has led to a wave of trolling on social media. The Sultans’ owner has made several critical remarks about the PSL’s franchise rental model, which he claims forces franchise owners to pay high fees for retaining their teams, without receiving the ownership rights they deserve. Tariq also highlighted the lack of foreign investment opportunities compared to leagues like the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Despite the loss, the Multan Sultans’ passionate fanbase remains hopeful that the team will bounce back in the coming matches.
