Government Increases Vehicle Transfer Fees, Introduces Transfer Fee for Electric Vehicles

Islamabad: The federal government has increased the vehicle transfer fees, and for the first time, a transfer fee has been imposed on electric vehicles. The new fee structure has come into effect immediately.
According to reports, the transfer fee for vehicles up to 1000cc has been raised from Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 2,750. The transfer fee for vehicles ranging from 1000cc to 1800cc has been increased from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 5,500, while the fee for vehicles above 1800cc has been raised from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 11,000.
For the first time, the government has also introduced a transfer fee for electric vehicles. The new fees are as follows:
Electric vehicles up to 50 kW: Rs. 2,500
Electric vehicles between 50 kW and 100 kW: Rs. 5,500
Electric vehicles above 100 kW: Rs. 10,000
In addition, the transfer fees for motorcycles have also been revised. The fee for motorcycles up to 200cc has been increased from Rs. 150 to Rs. 550, from 200cc to 400cc it is now Rs. 1,000, and for motorcycles above 400cc, the fee is Rs. 1,500.
According to the announcement, these fees will be deposited into the designated account of the Ministry of Finance.
